What areas do you service?
Specializing in: Logan Square, Humboldt Park, Avondale, Bucktown, and Wicker Park. We also service: Near West Side, West Town, River North, Near North Side, Gold Coast, Goose Island, Noble Square, Ukrainian Village, Belmont Gardens, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Park West, Lakeview, Roscoe Village, Irving Park, North Center, Albany Park, Kilbourn Park, Wrigleyville, Ravenswood, , Lincoln Square, and Uptown. We are always expanding, so if your neighborhood isn't listed don't be afraid to ask!
How do you train your walkers?
Our walkers spend the first week with Urban Tailz in training. We have each manager take the walker out on a training walk so the walker gets a different perspective from each manager (we've all been doing this a long time!). We teach walkers the proper way to walk a dog including how to read a dog's behavior. We want them to know a wagging tail doesn't always mean a happy dog! We go over emergency situations and techniques needed to avoid certain situations like dog attacks, dog bites, or dogs
Are you Licensed and Insured?
Urban Tailz is insured and bonded through Kennel Pro. Kennel Pro is highly regarded in the pet sitting industry. Clients have access to our up-to-date insurance information in the documents tab on their account. Urban Tailz is a LLC and is licensed to provide pet care services in the city of Chicago.
How are my keys handled?
We ask for 2 sets of keys if possible. We understand it might not be possible if you have high-security keys or live in a high rise. 1 set of keys stays with your regular walks and 1 set stays in office in case of emergency. Also, having 2 sets of keys makes scheduling a night/weekend walk much easier and faster. Urban Tailz will hold onto keys for up to 1 year of client inactivity. We will destroy keys after 1 year of client inactivity.
Why are you different than other dog walking companies?
Urban Tailz has been in business since 2000 making us one of the oldest dog walking companies in Chicago. We have learned a lot along the way and believe our experience gives us a leg up on other dog walking companies. We also provide flexibility that other companies cannot match. We do not charge for cancellations. We are able to schedule a walk last-minute when needed. We know people have crazy schedules, and we work for you. Not the other way around. Do you have boarding facilities?
We do not have boarding facilities so we are unable to board your pets.

How long have you been in business?
Urban Tailz was started in May of 2000. We have enjoyed many years caring for the pets of Chicago and hope to spend many more years taking care of your pets!
What are your hours?
We are available for dog walks and pet sitting 7am to 9:30pm 365 days a year. Our regular office hours are 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday. There is always a manager on-duty during our dog walking hours. Our main midday dog walking hours are 10am to 4pm Monday through Friday. Any visit scheduled outside this time frame is considered off-peak and will be charged at a higher rate.
